1. Services
Paw Play Croydon provides professional dog walking and pet care services.
Services will be delivered with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the standards expected of professional pet care providers.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
2. Group Dog Walk Requirements
To participate in group walks, dogs must meet the following conditions:
- Dogs must be friendly and sociable with other dogs and people.
- All dogs must be neutered.
- Dogs must not display aggressive behaviour.
- Dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatments.
- Dogs must be fit, healthy, and physically capable of group exercise.
- Dogs must have a reasonable recall or be able to walk safely on a lead where required.
- Dogs must be happy to travel in a car or vehicle.
- Dogs must be wearing an ID tag which complies with the UK guidelines.
We reserve the right to:
- Remove a dog from a group walk if their behaviour presents a risk.
- Require dogs to remain on lead where necessary for safety.
- Refuse participation in group walks if the dog is unsuitable.
- Alternative solo walks may be offered where appropriate.
3. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to provide accurate and complete information about their pet including:
- Medical conditions
- Behavioural issues
- Aggression towards people or animals
- Escape tendencies
- Training level and recall ability
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in termination of services without refund.
The owner confirms that the dog is legally owned by them or that they have permission from the legal owner to arrange services.
4. Payment Terms
Payment in Advance
- All services must be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Payment is required prior to each booking or before the start of services. Group dog walks can to be paid either weekly or monthly in advance.
- Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been received.
- We reserve the right to decline or cancel bookings where payment has not been received.
- Late payments will result in suspension of future services.
5. Cancellations
- Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a service.
- Where cancellation notice is:
More than 24 hours – the walk or visit may be rescheduled or credited.
Less than 24 hours – the service may be charged in full. - Holiday or long-term bookings may require a longer cancellation notice, which will be confirmed at the time of booking.
6. Dangerous Dogs and Aggressive Behaviour
- Owners must disclose any history of biting or aggression.
- Dogs subject to restrictions under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 must be declared before booking.
- We reserve the right to refuse service immediately if a dog presents a danger to people, other animals, or the walker.
- The owner remains legally responsible for the behaviour of their dog at all times.
7. Veterinary Care
In the event of illness or injury while the pet is in our care:
- We will attempt to contact the owner immediately.
- If contact cannot be made and veterinary care is required, we will seek treatment from a registered veterinary practice.
- The client agrees to cover all veterinary fees and associated costs.
8. Access to Property
Where services require access to the client’s property:
- Keys or access codes may be provided.
- Keys will be securely stored and labelled without identifying information.
We are not responsible for:
- Security issues due to faulty locks or alarm systems
- Other individuals accessing the property during scheduled visits
9. Liability
We hold appropriate public liability insurance for pet care services.
However, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:
- Loss, injury, illness, or death of a pet due to undisclosed health conditions
- Damage caused by a pet to property, persons, or other animals
- Escape of pets due to faulty equipment provided by the owner
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.
10. Data Protection
- We collect and store client information solely for the purpose of providing services.
- Personal information will be handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Client information will not be shared with third parties except where necessary to provide services (for example veterinary care).
11. Photographs
We may occasionally take photographs of pets during walks or visits for:
- Sending updates to owners
- Use on our website or social media
If you do not wish your pet to be photographed, please notify us in writing.
12. Changes to Terms
- We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
- The latest version will always be available on our website.
13. Governing Law
- These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
